An Introduction to Crew Resource Management
In the early 1980s United Airlines put on the world’s first Crew Resource Management course. The goal was to help multi-pilot crews communicate more effectively and make better in-flight decisions. Early CRM courses were focused primarily on interaction dynamics between captains and first officers. Over the last 30 years, these courses have evolved significantly to encompass a wide variety of skills, knowledge, and attitudes to help pilots make better risk-management decisions in the cockpit.
In this short “Introduction to CRM” presentation, David Black will introduce CRM and review one or two basic CRM concepts that can be applied in a single-pilot operation.
Do I have to be a Pilot?
This topic is of particular interest to pilots and student-pilots, but really anyone will find it interesting and informative. Everyone 13 and older is welcome.
Many of the concepts covered under the umbrella of CRM are also very applicable in other areas of life – including driving a car.
Will I get a Certificate?
Yes. A ‘Certificate of Completion’ (see above) is provided.
How much does it cost?
This short introduction course is free of charge..
We do, however, ask that you RSVP before attending.
