Gord Henne’s beautiful Nieuport 17 Replica aircraft is for sale. It would be a shame to see it leave CYCD. The aircraft can be registered and flown, or if preferred, set up as a display. Gord has a very realistic looking rotary engine replica to replace the actual aircraft engine currently installed.

Controller to aircraft that just landed: “Bear right, next intersection”
Pilot: “Roger, we have him in sight”

True conversation heard at Hanover Airport. The young woman in Tower has recently finished her training and is still not completely at ease. BA XXX is at holding position runway 09R. Another aircraft is doing approach procedures for a landing on the same runway. Tower wishes to expedite take-off for BA XXX:
Tower: BA XXX, are you ready for a quickie ?
BA XXX: Lady, I’m always ready for a quickie, but first I have to fly this plane to Helsinki !

ATC: “Cessna G-ABCD What are your intentions? ”
Cessna: “To get my Commercial Pilots Licence and Instrument Rating.
ATC: “I meant in the next five minutes not years.”

(Transmission as a DC-10 rolls out long after a fast landing…)
San Jose Tower: American 751 heavy, turn right at the end if able. If not able, take the Guadalupe exit off of Highway 101 back to the airport.

(Heard on the radio – Really )
Cessna: “Jones tower, Cessna 12345, student pilot, I am out of fuel.”
Tower: “Roger Cessna 12345, reduce airspeed to best glide!! Do you have the airfield in sight?!?!!”
Cessna: “Uh…tower, I am on the south ramp; I just want to know where the fuel truck is.”

The Zenith Aircraft company is doing it again. An army of volunteers is assembling a kit plane over a one week period during the Oshkosh fly-in convention. Those of you who are familiar with homebuilt and classic aircraft of all sorts may have heard of “Oshkosh” – it is probably the biggest convention of pilots anywhere on the planet who meet annually to revel in aviation.
At the end of the week, Zenith Aircraft will fly the newly-constructed CH750, demonstrating once again why their kits have one of the highest completion ratios — they are designed to be simple to build.
Here’s a link to a web cam where we can watch the progress:
A flying club should also enjoy beautiful aircraft – and this is certainly one – David Powell-William’s Twin Commanche:

Century of Flight participants arrived at the NFC on Saturday, July 12th and provided with an excellent BBQ lunch. The event volunteers were outstanding and helped to make the day a huge success.
We are still in need of a number of volunteer shuttle driving positions. If you are able to provide some time to assist please send me an email or contact Don Crocker at 250-758-3540. Please provide your drivers license number.
I am also looking for one volunteer to assist with setup and cleanup for the August 2 and September 6 fly in brunch.
Many thanks Anne-Marie
